The cluster stitches in the larger open-middle rows are actually
five-point flowers, but when done completely in a deep purple like this,
I thought they looked more like grapes or berries.

I repeated the eyelet rows after the rows of flowers to extend the shawl to the
elbow and give it a more complete look (to me the initial pattern looked
like it was stopped abruptly). I then added a picot edge fully around bottom edge and up the sides. Also, the original pattern called for a
button closure, but I opted to add 5" I-cords with a "berry" at the end for weight to help secure it around the shoulders without choking the wearer.
